Project Learning Tree Pre k-8 Educators will learn how to use the forest to stimulate critical and creating thinking skills, improve decision making, and to instill a commitment to environmental awareness. Participants will be guided through activities with a focus on hands-on, interdisciplinary units on diversity, interrelation of systems, structure and scale, and patterns of change.

Project Learning Tree Pre k-8 Project Learning Tree uses trees as textbooks to give students the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary concepts and develop critical thinking skills through activity-focused, place-based education. Designed for use with students pre k-8, each PLT activity is correlated to state standards and requires minimal preparation, so they can fit right into your lesson plans.
Each day of the
workshop will provide opportunities for you to learn and participate
in PLT activities, become familiar with the PLT Activity Guide, and
learn techniques for teaching in the outdoors. Join us for two
evenings of fun and learning. Each participant will receive a
copy of the PLT Pre k-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide. Oakland County
Project Learning Tree Pre k-8 Through hands-on, interdisciplinary activities, Project Learning Tree helps young people learn how to think, not what to think, about complex environmental issues. Developed to meet state and national standards, PLT provides the tools educators need to bring the environment into their classrooms and their students into the environment. Each participant will receive the PLT text. Lunch will be provided. SB-CEUs will be available to participants for an additional fee. Workshop Cost: $35

PLT: Places We Live, Biodiversity & Forests of the World Interdisciplinary, standards-based modules incorporate key concepts from social studies, humanities, sciences and math while illustrating the complexity of real-life environmental decisions. Growing Up WILD, Project Learning Tree Early Childhood Want to learn some fun, easy ways to get kids excited about
exploring the outdoors? This workshop teaches you how and sends you
home with two great new award-winning books and a music CD. This
workshop is appropriate for teachers, educators and parents who want to help
